camel-pose-ustrasana“It’s good to be alive,” said Sara, my yoga teacher, after the intense Camel Pose/Ustrasana.  Whether life is super-fun, difficult, or routine, it is good to be alive.

Life is full of everything and that’s the way we get it:  all or nothing.  Blocking out the tough stuff blocks out everything.  Joanna Macy says “all sensations are signs of life.”  I add that our awareness of those sensations brings us into aliveness.  Mind~body practices give us (what else?) practice at doing this!

Happy or sad, frustrating or easeful, just be aware, sense, and observe.  Explore your aliveness and share it!
