Sun, May 10, 2020 ~ Dancing Water Daily ~ Moon River Restorative Yoga: Overwhelm…Tuck & Support


When I feel overwhelmed, I either feel stuck and paralyzed or I kick into a scrambly busyness with the idea that that will help me relax. Instead, the opposite is true. It’s when I pause, stop and allow myself to disentangle from the overwhelmed feelings that I can skillfully make choices to respond to the feeling.

Today’s Dancing Water Daily is a Moon River Restorative Yoga practice that focuses on tucking and supporting the body to allow the overwhelmed, over-stimulated nervous system to let go and relax. We’ll use simple props from around the house to support the body from below and a blanket to wrap the body in the poses to offer support from above and around. Find the video here.

Props for the Practice:
• carpet ~ blanket ~ mat
• wall space or chair/sofa
• 2 towels
• 2 pillows
• 1 soft blanket
• eye covering
• tea (Dandy Blend Tea https://dandyblend.com/ )
• cat companion, optional
