Sun, May 10, 2020 ~ Dancing Water Daily ~ Moon River Restorative Yoga: Overwhelm…Tuck & Support

When I feel overwhelmed, I either feel stuck and paralyzed or I kick into a scrambly busyness with the idea that that will help me relax. Instead, the opposite is true. It’s when I pause, stop and allow myself to disentangle from the overwhelmed feelings that I can skillfully make choices to respond to the feeling.

Today’s Dancing Water Daily is a Moon River Restorative Yoga practice that focuses on tucking and supporting the body to allow the overwhelmed, over-stimulated nervous system to let go and relax. We’ll use simple props from around the house to support the body from below and a blanket to wrap the body in the poses to offer support from above and around. Find the video here.

Props for the Practice:
• carpet ~ blanket ~ mat
• wall space or chair/sofa
• 2 towels
• 2 pillows
• 1 soft blanket
• eye covering
• tea (Dandy Blend Tea )
• cat companion, optional

Help me to continue to create Dancing Water Daily practices! No matter how far apart we are physically, we are all connected. The path that we all move along together is held by an Invisible Net of Love that is always there even if we can’t see it. The Dancing Water Daily practices is my thread in that net. Please support my work by offering a donation so I can keep creating these practices for you. With your generous support, I can continue to invest in making these classes available to anyone who can benefit. Please click here to be part of the Dancing Water Daily Net of Love. And please “Send to a Friend” to avoid PayPal fees! Suggested donation: $5 a class or $15 a week ~ and truly, any amount helps enormously.

Thank You Gift for Helping our Community Grow!

A special heartfelt thank you to all who have offered financial support toward the continued creation of these practices. Your generosity makes classes available to even more people and that is a huge gift. I am deeply grateful.

This week, get a gift of gratitude: when you make a Dancing Water Daily donation of $10 or more, I will send you (or whoever you like) one of my books, Buddha Cat: Learning Presence, Awareness & Self Care from a Teacher Who Sometimes Barfs on the Bed or Octabusy: How To Let Go in a Sea of Doing. I can’t wait to put one in the mail for you!

Shout outs to this week’s generous donors Susan Snyder and Lynn Pribus! A thousand thanks, friends! Together we can extend this Net of Love to reach everyone who needs it.

AND if, like me, your finances are akimbo, I get it. Another way to help is to share these video practices. Send a link to a friend! Post it on social media! Help spread the word about nourishing movement and moving together apart.
