Fri, April 17, 2020 ~ Dancing Water Daily ~ All Out All You Dance Party: Catch the Calm

How are you feeling? No, really. How are you feeling in your body? Do you feel strong sensation as well as subtle? Negative sensation or positive and even neutral?

What about your emotions? Are you feeling anxious? Excited? Afraid? Is there any part of you that feels calm? Not unlike a virus, our feeling states are contagious. Emotional researcher, Brene Brown suggests that calm is a practice. We can cultivate calm.

Dr. Brown defines the practice of calm as “creating perspective and mindfulness, while managing emotional reactivity.” In a recent episode of her podcast Unlocking Us, she describes the contagion of calm.  In another, her interview with Dr. Marc Brackett on emotional intelligence they talk about the importance of feeling and identifying our emotional state in order to make skillful choices.

One of my favorite resources is the FREE app Insight Timer and this week, I’ve been diving into the plethora of calm meditations. Here’s one I enjoyed called Calm Body, Peaceful Mind but there are many others to choose from.

Help me sustain your Dancing Water Daily practices! No matter how far apart we are physically, we are all connected. The path that we all move along together is held by an Invisible Net of Love that is always there even if we can’t see it. The Dancing Water Daily practices is my thread in that net. Please support my work by offering a donation so I can keep creating these practices for you. With your generous support, I can continue to invest in making these classes available to anyone who can benefit. Please click here https://paypal.me/SusanMcCulley?locale.x=en_US to be part of the Dancing Water Daily Net of Love. And please “Send to a Friend” to avoid PayPal fees! Suggested donation: $5 a class or $15 a week ~ and truly, any amount helps enormously.

Shout outs to this week’s generous donors: Denise Stewart, Colleen Martin, Gwen Baber, Lori Raphael, Deb Prum, and Odell Covington! A thousand thanks, friends! Together we can extend this Net of Love.

AND if, like me, your finances are akimbo, I get it. Another way to help is to share these video practices. Send a link to a friend! Post it on social media! Help spread the word about nourishing movement and moving together apart.
