100 Words: Generosity: Give Courageously

generosity give child balletAfter goofy childhood wiggling, I never danced.
I was afraid of looking silly.

But I dreamed of dancing.

At 33 I took a class.
It was leotard, first position, barre…
Hardly dancing.

Nia cracked my fear shell
I discovered movement and parts of myself that had been hiding
I paid attention to body and self
A generous gift of spirit
But more, I started to share myself

Gradually the frozen shell has mostly melted (it still hardens up sometimes)

I know that the generous act is
to show up and
offer what I have.
It’s all any of us can do.
