100 Words: Be An Ant (or Personifying Persistence)
Al Pacino tells (in a Smithsonian interview) a great story of going to a Frank Sinatra concert. The warm up act was some drummer that knew vaguely of called Buddy Rich. Guess I just have to sit through this, he thought, but before he knew it, he was entranced by the intricate rhythms and patterns that poured out of the drum set. By the end, Pacino said, the crowd was on their feet cheering, screaming as the performance came to a dramatic end. With the crowd still breathless and applauding wildly, Sinatra came on stage and said, “Interesting, huh — When you stay at a thing.”
