100 Words: Breathe and Pause

breathe babyBreathing.  Lots to know about it and I don’t know much.  Except three things:  breath nourishes me, breath cleanses me, breath buys me time.

Full breaths nourish the body.  Take deep ones, especially when moving for more ease in the body.

Full exhalations cleanse and clear the body — and mind.  Yogis call an extended, audible exhale “Ujjayi” or ocean breath.  Ujjayi offers power and focus to the practice — and clears out the head.

Breathing buys me time.  Especially in tense situations, it helps not to speak before taking a full breath.

Breathe in.  Breathe out.  Be well.  Leave a comment!
