A Day of Nourishment Session Descriptions
With Susan McCulley, Rebecca George and Heather Wetzel
Saturday, Nov 3, 2012, 8:30 – 5:00pm
Nia Classes with Susan
In two Nia classes in the morning and afternoon, we’ll explore aspects of nourishment through the mindful, playful movement of Nia. What is the sensation of nourishing movement that sustains life, health and growth? How can we savor that sensation? And how do we receive the nourishment we offer ourselves?
Autumn Health and Herbs: A class and Plant Walk with Heather Wetzel, Certified Community Herbalist. All traditional medicine cultures know that one of the most important aspects of health is to live in harmony with the seasons. Autumn is a time of transition between Late Summer and Winter. We’ll learn important diet and lifestyle strategies plus herbal allies to support us in this time.
Food Freedance: A Cooking and Tasting Workshop (and Lunch!) with Rebecca
Join Rebecca to explore how mindfulness about the food we eat can help us nourish ourselves more deeply. We’ll discover ways to support ourselves throughout the holidays by indulging in flavorful wholesome foods. As we prepare and savor several versatile dishes for our lunch, we’ll discuss how we can play with basic recipes to discover yummy ways to truly nourish ourselves.
